The word puppy is intatly associated with cutness and adorability. The word used to describe a young dog is used in day to day slang to describe everything from shallow infatuaton to chubbiness in a child. The word originated in the 15th century from the French word  poupée meaning doll and the word originally meant toy dog and was used to describe small dog breeds rather than baby dogs.

But when does a puppy stop being a puppy and become a dog? The macquarie Dictionary defines a puppy as; a young dog ut does not say how young?
