Contributor's comments: We used this term in Melbourne in the 1950s and 1960s to refer to a sub-standard job. Usage would be: "You've done a bodgie job of that!" I've never had to spell it, though.

Contributor's comments: I remember my family using the term "bodgie" or something that sounded like that referring to disreputable teenagers hanging around at the street corner. We used to live then (1960's) in Rockdale, Sydney.
