Bogan bag

After the town of Nyngan was flooded in 1990, the locals were allowed back in to town to clean their houses etc. They were bused from Dubbo for the day, and had to return to Dubbo on the bus each evening. To bring washing, personal effects etc. back to Dubbo on the buses, people purchased the cheap red, white & blue zip up bags and they became known as Bogan Bags (named after the Bogan River that flooded the town).
