Contributor's comments: Toorak tractor is used here too - Adelaide and country areas. We used to live in Strathalbyn which is about an hour's drive out of Adelaide (rural) and there were a lot of horsey people there - they all had toorak tractors and horse boxes. we had an old fergie tractor and no horse box so we didn't fit in.

Adelaide version of Balmain tractor, etc.: You would just comment "Burnside warrior" for a four wheel drive owner who wouldn't be seen dead outside the Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide, much less off road. A 4WD which is bought by wealthy people and is only used in the nicest of urban environments. Contributor's comments: I would have thought this term would be confined to Victoria, but I've heard it used in northern NSW too.
