Macquarie Dictionary’s 2013 word of the year

What the hell does 'infovore' mean?

You may have to grab a new edition of the Macquarie Dictionary online because it's just been named the word of the year for 2013.

The editor of the dictionary, Susan Butler says an 'infovore' is someone who depends on consuming lots of information.

"They can do it these days because everyone has their digital device with them and they're attached to the internet."

Also making the list is the word 'firescaping' which is a form of landscaping aimed at reducing the threat of fire.
