It's been a big month of words with our Word of the Year announced and the People's Choice coming weeks later. But through it all, we are always on the lookout for new, emerging and interesting words to add to the Macquarie Dictionary

These are some of the fun, creative and intriguing submissions we received from you recently. Have you ever vaguebooked? Is aquafaba just as good as egg whites? One thing we're sure of, most of us have made a squish burger at least once in our lives.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - vaguebooking - to talk about a person in a Facebook post without mentioning their name or tagging them.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - butt dial - an unintentional call placed from inside someone's back pocket.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - ploopsie - when a previously broken device starts working again when you've asked for help to fix it.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - squish burger - a hamburger that has been pressed down so bun parts are fairly flat.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - metoo - a Twitter hashtag for people to share their own experiences of sexual harassment and assault, and to de-stigmatize speaking out.

Macquarie Dictionary new words - aquafaba - the viscous water in which legume seeds such as chickpeas have been cooked.
